"Ms. Rice is delusional if she thinks she can say hello to Ahmadinejad"
A member of the regime's parliamentary delegation whose visa along with Hadad Adel's was denied last week (http://www.iranpressnews.com/english/source/007141.html), strongly reacted to comment made by Dr. Condoleeza Rice who had stated that in case she crosses paths with Ahmadinejad at the U.N., she would in fact say hello. Mullah Mousa Qorbaani, the Mullah, known for his blustery speeches said: "Ms. Rice is delusional if she thinks that she can say hello to Ahmadinejad; she was supposedly going to say hello to Hadad Adel too."
Based on reports from AFTAB, one of the regime-run web sites, Qorbaani who is a member of the majority of the Islamic parliament said: "Americans have acted improperly and have insulted the guests of the United Nations such as Ahmadinejad's delegation, who have top priority."
Yesterday, another members of the Parliament, Ahmad Peeshbeen said: "Rice is a liar and one cannot count on what liars say. We Muslims understand the necessity of saying hello back. Americans are dreaming if they think they can force themselves on us by saying simple hellos and being affable."
Ahmadinejad's Internet site: “A cold winter is ahead”
Farda, Ahmadinejad's own site reports that his opponents at the Ministry of Oil are conceiving a cold winter for the people. An unidentified member of the middle-management of the Oil Ministry said: "Some of the directors of our ministry who are aware of their possible terminations, are making trouble and not 'serving' the people in the coming cold winter months; they have procrastinated in distributing vouchers for white oil and liquid gas. The vouchers are always handed out in the summer so that distribution in the winter months is facilitated and people do not have to face any shortages; however this year no such steps have been taken. Faced with these authorities' stonewalling, the flow of distribution and rationing will be bungled and a cold winter awaits people all across Iran."
Regime harasses and intimidates the youth, calling them hoodlums and scum
The regime has stepped up it's oppression and intimidation of the citizens of Tehran under the guise of confronting hoodlums and scum; the Basij forces which are mobilization forces [created by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini; they are extremely radical and supported by the current leader Ali Khamenei] have especially begun targeting women and the youth of Iran which have always been the most vocal and active anti-regime conclaves.
Based on reports, in recent days the number of the regime's disciplinary units in the streets of Tehran has markedly and perceptibly increased. Martial law outposts and inspector's barricades have been set up on most streets around the city, which has created huge traffic problems, around the clock. In the city's main centers, huge brown trucks and trailers have been turned into paddy wagons and mobile detentions centers for units of the revolutionary guard. The trucks have slogans on them that read: "Sister your hijab is a sign of OUR virtue and chastity; do not tantalize us by being improperly veiled."
There have also been reports of the disciplinary units brutally attacking cars whose drivers are listening to music.
One of the regime's media outlets reports of 700 arrests over the last few days.
The regime's huge budget deficit
The regime is facing a $12 billion budget deficit this year. Iradj Nadimi, a member of the budget commission of the parliament said: "This year we are looking at a $3 billion unaccounted for deficit and $7 billion deficit from dubious revenues.”
"Based on calculations $1.5 billion has been paid out for the import of automobiles and $1.5 was from the sale of various regime-owned companies and their respective buildings." He added: "It is certain that by the end of this year we will in fact have a $12 billion deficit which even in view of the compensatory purchase of wheat and importation of petrol* could escalate to $16 billion."
Nadimi stressed: "There are three ways to compensate for the budget deficit. First, diminishing the construction and development budget, second cutting out unnecessary expenses and establishment of financial order and discipline and finally withdrawal from our reserves which will worsten inflation and severely threaten investments, quashing all development and production projects."
*Iran exports crude oil and reimports refined petrol.
Two more Kurdish activists arrested
Based on reports from the Democratic Party of Kurdistan, the regime's security forces and secret police have transferred several of the activists arrested during the recent protests in Kurdistan to unknown locations and they continue to hunt down and arrest individuals whom they deem responsible for the July and August protests in towns around Kurdistan.
Based on these assumptions, the regime's disciplinary forces arrested two more Kurdish activists:
1. Azad Lotfpour, resident of Sanandadj who is a university student, socio-cultural activist and was selected to act as spokesman for the workers who protested in front of the Sanandadj headquarters of the Kurdistan’s governor.
2. Raheem Shilani, resident of Boukan.
The regime refuses to divulge any information about the location where these two activists are being held.
It is reported that following Ahmadinejad's installation as president, an enormous wave of protests took over Kurdistan, which prompted the regime to attack and oppress the area's angry residents. Ahmadinejad was found to have been directly involved in the 1989 plotting and assassination of the Kurdish Democratic leader, Abdul Rahman Ghassemlou in Vienna.
Anti-regime CD's distributed across Iran
The regime-run newspaper owned by Mullah Khamnei confessed to the rampant distribution of CD's cataloguing and exposing the depth of the regime's corruption and crimes in the province of Khuzestan. The report also adds: "These CD's mock and ridicule some of the most valued and religious speeches by members of the regime; the persons imitating the voices of our prominent figures and mocking them are nothing more than spiteful and malicious people who are insulting people's beliefs and the sanctity of the regime."
