One man is sentenced to "blindness in both eyes"

Iran Human Rights, November 27: A court in the Iranian capital Tehran has sentenced a man to "blindness in both eyes" reported the state run news agency ISCA news yesterday.

According to the report, the man who is identified as Majid, is convicted of pouring acid on the face of Ameneh (27), a girl with whom he allegedly wished to marry. Majid said in the court that "Ameneh denied marrying him, and he thought by committing the offence she could be his for ever!"

As a result of the injuries she lost the sight on one eye and most of the sight on the other eye.

Yesterday Majid was literally sentenced to eye for eye retribution by the court. He is sentenced to lose the sight in his both eyes as well as economic compensation to Ameneh.
