The INTERPOL (International Police) website filtered in Iran

Iran Press News: According to the official Islamic Republic news agency, the Interpol website has been filtered in Iran. Interpol is the organization that assists countries around the world in arresting suspects.

The Interpol web site was filtered after the senior public prosecutor of Argentina announced the issuance of warrants for Ali-Akbar Hashem-Rafsanjani and other officials named in connection with the 1994 bombing of a Buenos Aires Jewish community center. The Argentine judicial system had requested that Interpol assist them in apprehending these men who have not turned themselves into the Argentine judicial system and are considered fugitives.

Internet users in Iran when logging onto this site are met with a message that reads:
”Dear partner, access to this site is not possible.”

Interpol was established in 1923 and is presently active in 186 countries including Iran. Interpol headquarters is located in the city of Lyon, in France.
