Russia invites Iran to conform to the resolution of UN

MOSCOW - AFP- Russia invited Thursday Iran to conform to the Council Resolution of safety of UN which granted one month to him, until on August 31, to cease its activities of uranium enrichment.

“We hope that the Iranian part will follow the calls which are sent to him and which no additional action of UN will be necessary”, the ministry Russian of the Foreign Affairs in an official statement commenting on declares the Iranian rejection of this resolution.

“We would wish to stress that in agreement with article 25 of UN, the members of the organization agree to obey the Council Decisions of safety and to implement them”, the ministry adds.

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated Tuesday, the shortly after the adoption of the Council Resolution of safety, which it was “without value”.

The resolution requires that Iran suspends any activity of enrichment and reprocessing, including the research and the development, or else sanctions are considered.

Russia, which maintains the relations privileged with Iran where it builds a nuclear thermal power station with Bouchehr (southern), had underlined Tuesday that the resolution of UN did not comprise a mechanism “automatic” of sanctions and recalled the attachment of Moscow to a “political payment” of the crisis.
