2006 Thursday 23 November70 workers cooperatives in the province of Mazandaran closedIran Press News: Gholam-Reza Bazari, the head of the workers cooperative unions of the province of Mazandaran [based in the city of Sawree] said: “Of the 135 cooperative unions in the province, only 65 are active and the rest have been closed.” In an interview with the reporter for the regime-run news agency ILNA, Bazari, said: "What has caused most of these cooperatives to sprial into bankruptcy is the company directors; instead of giving their support, the management of the factories, prevent the furtherance of the activities of the coops.” Bazari also spoke of all the efforts to obtain a loan to end the crisis of the coops and said: “We have made repeated requests to the ministry of cooperatives and the mutual assistance organization for funding but so far our appeals have gleaned no results.” |
