2006 Thursday 14 DecemberThe strike of the “Iran Sadra” ship building factory in Boushehr continuesIran Press News: The strike of the “Iran Sadra” ship building factory in Boushehr continues Workers from the “Iran Sadra” shipbuilding factory in Boushehr continue their several-month long strike. So far the company’s management has not provided a suitable response to the workers either. According to the regime-run news agency ILNA, "Eesa-Mohammad Kamali" executive secretary of workers house in Boushehr announcing this news, said: “Though the company’s management announced that they would tend to the workers’ concerns and work at resolving them, no such thing actually occurred and as a result of a lack of governmental projects “Iran Sadra” company has become financially stagnant and workers are in limbo. Labor organizations and the workers house of Boushehr had the intention of aiding the industrial groups’ management but due to the vicious propaganda from the provincial headquarters that stigmatized the workers house’s efforts as political, we stepped aside and did not interfere, however we are very concerned about the fate of these workers.” This labor activist added: “Despite promises made, it is quite unclear as to why the government is refusing to offer projects to “Iran Sadra” and as such, how long should we be witness to such stagnation.” |
