2006 Thursday 14 DecemberThe Islamic regime opposes the Olympic council of AsiaIran Press News: The regime-run news agency Fars news reported: Babaii, secretary-general of the Association of sports law of the Islamic regime’s Asian games in reaction to comments from the the President Olympic council of Asia (OCA), said: “No one has the right to express their opinion about our religious beliefs.” He said: “The comments made by the President of the OCA regarding the prohibition of the use of religious slogans, totally unacceptable. Ahmad Al-Sabah has absolutely no right to speak out about such issues. Religious slogans on the shirts of athletes has a spiritual aspect and it’s not advertisement. What is on the shirts of the Islamic athletes is respect for our spiritual values. This is very much in keeping with the slogans of our national Olympic committee. We are peaceful and want to be friendly and our religious beliefs are also in that spirit. It seems that Ahmad Al-Sabah has been brainwashed by some non-Shiite and un-Islamic perceptions. By leaning on the Imam (peace be upon him) our athletes, have gained good results and they cannot be distanced from their beliefs.” |
