A juvenile sentenced to death in Iran for homosexuality

Nemat Safavi, an Ardebili juvenile was detained by the government when he was 16 year old because of his homosexual acts and he sentenced to death after being prosecuted by the court of Ardebil.

Mr. Safavi was born in 1989, this juvenile has spent some time in a rectification and education center and then was transferred to the division of juveniles but now he is being kept in the division of youths in Ardebil prison.

After the release of prescription from the court of Ardebil, the foregoing prescription has been sent to the Iran's supreme court for the final confirmation.

In February 2007, two juveniles named "Hamzeh Chavi" (19 year old) and "Loghman Hamzehpour" (18 year old) were detained for homosexual acts in the small town of Sardasht and there is no information available on their latest circumstances.
