Mother of Ali Musavi interrogated at slain son's grave site

Mother of Green Movement martyr Ali Mousavi has been interrogated by plain-clothed forces in Beheshte Zahra cemetery.

The Green Voice of Freedom has learned that Zoleikha Mousavi Khameneh, sister of opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi was attacked and questioned while visiting the gravesite of her son Ali Mousavi on 27 December, a year after his tragic assassination during last year's Ashura protests.

The group of attackers reportedly insulted the mourning mother and forced her into stepping out of her car and uttering the name of her murdered son. State goons then attempted to confiscate the identity cards belonging to her and her son (brother of Ali Mousavi), but the two refused to cooperate.

According to the report, following the state-thugs’ inhumane behaviour, they were addressed by Zoleikha Mousavi Khameneh who called them accomplices in her son’s murder.

Ali Mousavi, 43, was killed by an armed gunman driving in a black patrol sedan in Tehran on 27 December 2009 as he, like many Iranians was marking the holy day of Ashura. The assassin was able to shoot Mousavi in the chest before fleeing the crime scene. According to his family, Ali Mousavi had been threatened via phone and was also being pursued in the days leading up to his tragic death.

In an interview with the reformist Rooz Online website last week, she said, “They [the authorities] said ‘we will identify the murderer in the coming fifteen days,’ a year has gone by and nothing has happened. They know who the killer is and he has surely been identified; a year has passed since his martyrdom and if the judiciary functioned properly, they should have revealed [the name of] his killer.”
