Date of H. Khezri’s Execution Remains Unknown

Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA)- In recent days, speculations about the secret execution of Hossein Khezri by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s judicial-security system has grown stronger.

According to HRANA reporters, on January 13th, Mr. Elahinia, the head of branch 9 of the Execution of Sentences office of the Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court told Hossein Khezri’s brother in a meeting, “We had the order from the Orumiyeh Prosecutor’s office to carry out Hossein’s death sentence; even the execution team from Tehran had been sent. However, since the lawyer was not present, the execution was temporarily postponed.”

The family of this prisoner of conscience quoted officials that Hossein Khezri was taken to Tehran so that his death sentence may be carried out.

On the night of January 2nd, Hossein Khezri was transferred from ward 12 of Orumiyeh central prison to an undisclosed location. Since then, there is no detail on his fate.

Hossein Khezri’s family, in a letter published earlier by HRANA, asked the human rights community and authorities for help [in saving their son's life].
