50 contract workers of the company Tazh Qazvin gathered last Wednesday in a peaceful protest to demand their rights after being dismissed by their contractor.
Ali Rezaie, a board member of the Center for Coordination of the Qazvin Islamic Council confirmed the news to an ILNA ABA reporter. He said, “Most of the [contract] workers had 14 to 19 years of experience with the Tazh Qazvin company. They were dismissed despite the fact that they invested much of their youth and energy working in the factory.”
He added, “The dismissals have caused pessimism among workers toward the directors and managers…We reported the dismissals to all regulatory institutions and the judicial and security departments, hoping that the wave of dismissals within this company will end…The company Qazvin Tazh has 960 workers who are constantly producing products that are all being sold. The dismissal of workers cannot be economically justified since the company [is in good shape].”
According to HRANA, the dismissed workers plan to continue protesting in the near future until they reach conclusive results.
