Saturday 22 January 2011Iran has the capacity to manufacture purified uranium
Based on new documents recently published by Wiki Leaks, in April 2009 American officials have spoken of Iran’s capability to manufacture purified uranium which is the first step on making nuclear weapons. The confidential documents are related to a meeting held in April 2009 hosted by Simon Smith, Great Britain’s ambassador in Austria. One of American representatives whom was present at this meeting stated: “As function of Iranian centrifuges show Iran has the technical ability to achieve high quality uranium and can achieve this if they want it to.” Published documentation also stated participants of the April 2009 meeting had agreed Iran is in need of 1.5 tons of low enriched uranium to build a basic bomb. British officials present in the meeting have predicted, by 2014 Iran will have produced 20 tons of low enriched uranium, and in the event of extended production, which is enough to build 19 nuclear warheads. In this regard The Guardian wrote British official have also agreed in the event of continuation of technical problems at Natanz nuclear database in 2010 which was caused by a major virus and other problems, the weight of enriched uranium production in Iran must be much less than the predicted amount in 2009. Also, in a world wide attempt in 2008 United States has tried to prevent Iran from acquiring steel firm called “Steel Marging” and fiber carbon which are essential substances in enrichment of uranium, but the degree of this plan’s success in unavailable.
