Arrest of Political and Civil Rights Activists Continued

RAHANA, Amir Gol, Fereydoun Seydi, Abdolmehdi Afzali and Baha’i citizen Saman Ostaovar are among the political and civil rights activists who have recently been arrested and transferred to prison.

Amir Gol who had been summoned by the Intelligence Ministry on February 17th, has been transferred to an undisclosed location.

Fereydoun Seydi, a member of the Youth branch of the Islamic National Front, has been arrested on February 14th by the security forces. He was an activist for Karroubi’s campaign in Arak. This is the second time that he has been detained since the disputed elections.

A Baha’i resident of Kerman by the name of Saman Ostovar was detained on February 15th. He was arrested outside of his house and was taken to his house afterwards while the authorities searched the place and confiscated his Baha’i related books, CDs and pictures.

Abdolmehdi Afzali, member of the Islamic Student Association at Azad University, has been arrested at his house.
