Tehran’s municipal bus service union is urging authorities to arrange medical treatment outside prison for its jailed leader, Mansour Osanloo, RFE/RL’S Radio Farda reports.
Osanloo, who has a heart condition, spent three days in hospital last month. His mother, Fatemeh Golqezi, told Radio Farda today Osanloo was cuffed to the bed during his hospital stay. Osanloo’s doctors have said he is suffering from a blocked artery or arteries.
The bus service union said its members and Osanloo’s family want authorities to arrange medical treatment outside the Rajai Shahr prison where he is being held.
Osanloo is serving a five-year prison term for acting against “national security” in a case widely condemned by rights groups and international labor organizations. He had been detained several times between 2005-2007.
Additionally, Iran Green Voice reports that Afshin Osanloo, the brother of Mansour Osanloo was allegedly abducted by plainclothes agents at Tehran’s southern bus terminal.
Early reports suggested that he was taken to the notorious Evin prison in north Tehran, but prison officials have declined to comment or provide any information on Afshin Osanloo.
