MEMRI Iranian Media Blog, Hackers hacked the website of the secretariat of the Iranian regime's Assembly of Experts and Expediency Council Iranian Assembly of Experts and posted a notice of the "death" of Hashemi Rafsanjani, the deposed Assembly of Experts chairman (see In Iran, End of an Era: Assembly of Experts Chairman Rafsanjani Is Removed).
Rafsanjani's son Mohsen clarified that the notice was fake.
The Iranian moderate-conservative daily Ebtekar stated that Rafsanjani's statements yesterday, that he would now write his memoirs and continue to serve the regime, could attest to his intention to drop out of political activity.
