According to reports by the Human Rights House of Iran (RAHANA), close to 500 individuals were arrested by security forces in the capital of Tehran during Iranian Fire Festival ceremonies on Tuesday night.
According to MehrNews, the Deputy of Security for the greater Tehran area, Colonel Ali Karimi, mentioned of 64 injuries and stated: “Last night security forces successfully discovered and confiscated more than 461 dangerous combustibles and 23 hand grenades.” Karimi added: “The police also discovered and confiscated over 2000 kilograms of material used to produce combustibles. Security forces have apprehended 467 individuals charged with disturbing public order and the production, distribution, and trafficking of combustible material. 16 of the 64 individuals injured on Tuesday night are in critical condition.”
