HRANA News Agency - Hamid Yaghmaei was brutally murdered in Gonbad-e-Kavus County by the relatives of a women with whom he allegedly had an improper relationship. Hamid Yaghmaei owned and operated a video club situated in a region referred to as Gardan Marzi.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), a woman’s relatives, suspicious of an inappropriate relationship between her and Hamid Yaghmaei, attacked his place of business, striking him with a dagger. The assailants fled the scene after pouring gasoline on him and setting his body ablaze.
Bystanders and neighbors transferred Hamid Yaghmaei to the burn unit of the hospital in Sari [Mazandaran Province]. While in the hospital, Hamid Yaghmaei lost his vision and both arms due to infection. After three days of fighting for his life, on March 18, 2011, Hamid Yaghmaei succumbed to his injuries and died. He was buried in Gonbad-e-Kavus County.
