Iranian MP Kazem Jalail is hesitant about returning normal relations with Egypt, Iranian Students' News Agency says
The Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported Wednesday that Iranian MP Kazem Jalali, spokesman for the Foreign Relations Committee of the Iranian parliament, said that Iran should not rush into reviving diplomatic relations with Egypt.
Kazem told ISNA that "[Iran] should not act hastily in resuming ties with Egypt," saying that a "logical process" should be followed in doing so.
Prior to Kazem's statements, remarks from Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Al-Arabi and Iran's Interests Section head in Cairo Mojtaba Amani revealed that deliberations were under way on normalising Egyptian-Iranian relations.
Foreign Minister El-Arabi announced Tuesday afternoon that he recieved an invitation to visit Tehran and that he is planning to accept the invitation.
A Foreign Ministry source told Ahram Online Tuesday that plans to establish fully fledged embassies were being worked out.
