Journalist Massoud Lavasani Denied Furlough

Despite his need for medical attention, the prison authorities have denied furlough to Massoud Lavasani.

Journalist Massoud Lavasani has been denied prison leave since fall.

He was arrested following the post-election disputes and sentenced to 6.5 years in prison and a 10 year ban from journalism by the appeals court.

He was even denied a face to face prison visit for the Iranian New Year for the second consecutive year.

His son who has been far away from his father since he turned 2 is suffering from autism and can only have weekly cabin visits.

Lavasani is suffering from skin problems in prison due to the poor prison hygiene which has not been treated.
