Mohammad Javad Mozaffar Began Serving Sentence

Author, publisher and cultural activist Mohammad Javad Mozafar who was arrested following the Ashura events, has returned to prison to serve his one year prison sentence.

Mohammad Javad Mozaffar, vice-president of the Committee to Defend Prisoner’s Rights, and a member of the Committee to Defend Freedom of the Press, was arrested in December and spent 62 days in solitary confinement of Ward 240.

On March 20th, he was banned from leaving the country while travelling to Karbala.

Mohammad Javad Mozaffar is a founder of the Kavir publication which is among the top 7 thought provoking publications of the country.
