Iran's Kavoshgar-5 carrier will be launched carrying living creature (a Rhesus monkey) into space sometimes between July 22-August 22, according to the head of the Iranian Space Agency (ISA).
Dr. Hamid Fazeli, on Monday in an interview with IRNA scientific reporter, said Kavoshgar-5 is similar to omid's Kavoshgar (the Safir-e-Omid carrier) in terms of structure which is launched into a suborbital altitude 120 kilometers away from the earth carrying a Rhesus monkey in Mordad.
"Five monkeys are being tested in order to be able to bear the environmental effects while launching," pointed the head of the Iranian Space Agency.
He added some environmental tests and assembly integration and test (AI&T) have been conducted on these creatures, and one of these monkeys will be launched by Kavoshgar-5.
Dr. Fazeli stated the Rhesus monkeys have been brought in from Southeast Asia and medical examinations are performed to determine their health condition right after quarantine, and Of course, the monkeys should be young and adolescent.
