police forces entered Ardel, manufacturer of home appliances, compounds and dismanteled the equipment with the authority of the prosecutor’s office. The dismantling followed the Tejarat Bank action as part of the debts of the company to the bank. The police action led to skirmishes with the workers and injuries of some.
The workers took their outrage to the gates of the parliaments on August 2 and Tejarat Bank on August 3. The workers carried signs like “Shame on Bank Tejarat”.
Workers thus have lost their jobs following the stoppage of production. The bank only sold the equipment in auction as part of recovering portion of its debts.
