Moussavi allowed to see children after 7 months

Iran's top dissident, Mir-Hossein Moussavi, was allowed to meet his three children after seven months in house arrest, opposition websites reported Wednesday.

Moussavi and his wife, Zahra Rannavard, have been under house arrest since February in an effort by the government to cut their contacts with supporters of his Green Movement and prevent street protests against President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The two were allowed this week to meet their children after seven months, in presence of a number of security agents.

The children quoted their father as saying that there was no hope that the Green Movement would be allowed to run in parliamentary elections in March.

Moussavi was quoted as saying that he and his wife had no access to newspapers and radio and not even constant access to pen and paper. The children of the 60-year-old former prime minister said that their parents were both in good physical and mental health./-
