Commander of the Iranian Border Guards Brigadier General Hossein Zolfaghari says Iran's borders have been sealed off against enemy infiltration.
The [Iranian] military and security forces are vigilantly and with complete authority monitoring any movement along the country's borders and have closed off all routes [used by] the enemy to penetrate [Iran],” IRNA quoted Zolfaghari as saying on Sunday.
Zolfaghari further pointed to the soft war waged by the enemy which aimed to sow the seeds of religious and ethnic discord among Iranians.
“The vigilance and awareness of every individual in society is necessary to counter this [war],” he expounded.
The Iranian official stressed the importance of security, saying that it would lead to stability and investment which would in turn help the development of society by creating jobs and sustainable security.
This comes as Iran's Police Chief Brigadier General Esmail Ahmadi-Moqaddam also announced on Sunday that the country planned to equip all border areas with homemade unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) within the next few months to carry out reconnaissance missions.
