While VPN ports were closed from September 28, an official said that this measure was carried out because these ports were used to access websites with criminal content.
“On orders of the Group to Determine Instances of Criminal Content, access to VPNs have been blocked in the country”, this official said.
“This order was announced to the Communication Infrastructure Company as the government sector and therefore, VPN ports were closed”, he added.
This official said that VPNs were illegal and should not exist without warrants…
VPNs had turned into a tool to bypass filtering software to access websites that according to the law had criminal content.
