Iran oil rig ship sinks, 12 missing

A ship ferrying people from Iranian oil rigs to the mainland sank in the Gulf on Thursday leaving 12 people missing, the official IRNA news agency reported.

The ship, carrying 72 people, was heading to the port city of Bushehr when it sank, IRNA said, The cause of the incident was unknown.

Sixty people were rescued and a search and rescue mission was underway to find the others, IRNA said. Iran is OPEC's second-biggest oil exporter. - Reuters
