A former commander of the State Security Forces was discharged and sentenced to 149 lashes on charges of seizing government property and moral issues.
The case of this top SSF official was referred to the Supreme Court after he appealed the sentence. Supreme Court judges upheld the sentence after examining the evidence. This sentence has been finalized for implementation. (Iran state-run daily, Nedaye Sabz Azadi website – Oct. 19, 2011)
