Brave man who dared to defy regime of terror

Persian2English -– Two years ago today, the barbaric Iranian regime illegally executed a Kurdish young man named Ehsan Fattahian.

“I Never Feared Death”: The Plight of Ehsan Fattahian

Today, when punishment is the answer for those who seek freedom and justice, how can one fear his fate? Those of “us” who have been sentenced to death by “them” are only guilty of seeking an opportunity for a better and fair world.

What Happened to Ehsan Fattahian?

Fattahian had been arrested on July 20, 2008, in Kamyaran in Kurdistan and charged with “working with armed opposition groups.” He was put on trial by the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj. Like most political trials in Iran, the entire proceedings were behind closed doors and without an independent jury, in direct violation of Article 168 of Iran’s Constitution. He was also denied an attorney, another violation of law. Fattahian rejected all charges against him. His family also stated that he had done nothing illegal.

Following Ehsan Fattahian’s execution, blogger Babak Dad wrote about it:
What will you do with the buds that are inevitable to rise? What did you gain by murdering the others that you would by executing Ehsan? You are finished!

Let’s assume that I am down to the ground for you;
And my new branches have been cut by the swing of your saw:
Then, what would you do with my “Roots?”
You may rule over the sky,
Waiting for birds to pass by,
Declaring their flight not allowed,
But what would you do with the newborn birds waiting in a nest?
You can shoot!
You can beat!
You can kill!
But what would you do with the buds that are inevitable to rise?
