Ayatollah Amoli Larijani, [the head of Iran’s Judiciary] announced in a meeting with top judicial officials that in order to more seriously counter narcotics traffickers, the Attorney General has been ordered to seize the property of traffickers and sentence them to the maximum punishment [death].
“The Attorney General has been ordered to carry out special pursuits in fighting against narcotics and carry out more decisive measures against the producers, distributors and traffickers of narcotics and also to seize their property and carry out the maximum punishment for them in the fastest time so that they do not dare take any steps to pollute the youth of this land”, Ayatollah Larijani said.
