Iran Labor Report
According to Iranian Labour News Agency (ILNA), since the protest gathering by the workers at the parts manufacturing unit on June 10, 20 protesting workers of Asia Pearlite Casting Company have been expelled.
City of Saveh Labor House executive secretary told ILNA that the June protest was due to four month delay in paying wages and the refraining from payment of yearly benefits by the management. According to Mehdi Zamani, following the protests, five workers were immediately expelled while 15 others have been gradually let go in the last month.
According to Zamani, the job security of other protesting workers who are mostly contract workers is in jeopardy.
Indicating that the management also has not paid for the overtime works, Zamani said that: “most part manufacturing companies for the automobiles are owed substantial amounts by the giant car manufacturing companies in the country.” “While the car manufacturers receive tens of thousands of dollars from the buyers, they do not pay their dues to the part manufacturers.”
