Iran’s response to an attack by Israel would be “huge,” said Hezbollah’s chief Hassan Nasrallah.
Any strike by Israel would give Iran the “golden opportunity” it has been dreaming of for years, Nasrallah, the secretary-general of Lebanon-based Hezbollah, said today in a speech relayed to supporters in South Beirut to mark Jerusalem Day.
Hezbollah can reach targets in Israel with just a small number of missiles that are already in place and inflict “tens of thousands of Israeli deaths,” Nasrallah said. Hezbollah cannot destroy Israel but can turn the lives of millions of Israelis into “real hell,” he said.
Hezbollah is a militant Islamist group with close ties to Iran that is classified as a terrorist organization by the U.S.
“We can change the face of Israel,” Nasrallah said.
