President Obama reiterated his campaign position on Iran, saying the United States would not allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon but that he believes “there is still a window of time for us to resolve this diplomatically.”
He denied preelection reports that secret talks with Iran were being planned but also signaled a willingness to engage in talks outside conventional channels. “We’re not going to be constrained by diplomatic niceties or protocols,” Obama said.
