Monday 19 November 2012Iran 'furiously' tries to rearm Hamas with missilesWND.com 19 November 2012 Iran and Hezbollah are furiously trying to resupply Hamas in the Gaza Strip with long-range missiles to fire into Israel, according to Israeli defense sources. The information comes as Alaeddin Boroujerdi, head of the Iranian parliament’s national security and foreign policy committee, denied Israeli claims his country was supplying rockets to Gazan groups, according to a report posted on Iran’s Al Alam’s television website. Today, Hamas took responsibility for firing two missiles at Tel Aviv, including a long-range Iranian Fajr-5 missile. Both projectiles were shot down by Israel’s Iron Dome system. Since the start last Wednesday of what Israel is calling Operation Defensive Pillar, 544 rockets launched from the Gaza Strip hit ground in Israel. The Iron Dome system intercepted over 300 rockets headed toward densely populated areas. Last week, WND quoted informed Middle Eastern security officials stating advisers from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Units are in the Gaza Strip helping to oversee the firing of long range rockets by jihadist groups there. On Friday, the Islamic regime’s media outlet Nimrooz reported that missiles fired that day by the Islamic Jihad toward Tel Aviv were Iranian Fajr 5 missiles. According to Reza Kahlili writing at WND, the Nimrooz outlet is close to Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the mayor of Tehran and a possible candidate for president. |
