TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said there are over 50 million eligible voters across the country for the upcoming presidential election.
"There are 50, 483,192 eligible voters across the country for the upcoming election," he said, adding there are 1.631,206 people who are to vote for the first time, 831,644 of whom are men and 799,562 are women.
There are 285 polling staffs in other countries for Iranian expatriates, he said, adding security measures have been taken for safety of the election.
Iranian Interior Minister also assured that large turnouts of Iranians will join the election.
"We would make the required planning under the law, if the election is to be in the second phase," Najjar noted.
