HRANA News Agency – Branch 4 of appeal court of Eastern Azerbaijan denied the request of Amir Chamani, the student activist imprisoned in Tabriz central prison for parole. According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Amir Chamani the master student of Azad university of Tabriz has spent already six months of his nine months imprisonment and despite spending more than half of his verdict and asking many times for conditional release, again judge Khoubiar the head of branch 4 of Eastern Azerbaijan provincial appeal court denied Amir’s request. After spending too many of continuous interrogation sessions in Tabriz intelligence office and being releasing on a 50 million Thomans bail, Amir Chamani was tried on July 5, 2012 and sentenced to six months of imprisonment on charge of insulting the supreme leader and the Islamic Republic founder by branch 1 of Tabriz revolutionary court, as well to three months and one day imprisonment on charge of propaganda against regime and 40 lashes on charge of insulting on the president by branch 104 of Tabriz criminal court. He was arrested by intelligence agents on January 13, 2013 and after two weeks of being under arrest in Tabriz intelligence he was transferred to Tabriz central prison for verdict enforcement. It is worth mentioning that his 40 lashes verdict was enforced two days before presidential election. |
