Iran Human Rights: Six prisoners were hanged in Karoun Prison in Ahwaz (southwestern Iran) early this morning, reported Iranian state media.
The prisoners, who were not identified by their full name, were convicted of membership in a criminal gang that raped 10 women at parks located in Shoushtar, a town in province of Khuzestan. The charges have not been confirmed by independent sources.
Four of the prisoners were identified as Ali Naz, Ali Hossein, Mohammad, and Nobar.
Today’s executions are the first after a brief break in executions during the month of Ramadan.
