HRANA News Agency – Amir Chamani, the student activist of Tabriz Azad University, returned to Tabriz central prison after 5 days of furlough yesterday afternoon.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), he has come for furlough on Thursday August 22.
After spending too many of continuous interrogation sessions in Tabriz intelligence office and being releasing on a 50 million Thomans bail, Amir Chamani was tried on July 5, 2012 and sentenced to six months of imprisonment on charge of insulting the supreme leader and the Islamic Republic founder by branch 1 of Tabriz revolutionary court, as well to three months and one day imprisonment on charge of propaganda against regime and 40 lashes on charge of insulting on the president by branch 104 of Tabriz criminal court. He was arrested by intelligence agents on January 13, 2013 and after two weeks of being under arrest in Tabriz intelligence he was transferred to Tabriz central prison for verdict enforcement.
It is worth mentioning that his 40 lashes verdict was enforced two days before presidential election.
