Maryam Tousi: A girl with the speed of the wind

Maryam Tousi (born 5 December 1988 in Tehran) is an Iranian sprint athlete who specializes in the 200 metres. She is the Iranian record holder in the 100 m, 200 m, 400 m and 4x400 m relay. Tousi is the fastest Iranian women runner, and her biggest wish is to show the place of Iranian women in the world and to raise Iran's flag in competitions.

Maryam Tousi is the first Iranian women who has earned a medal in the Asian games. She won the 400 m medal in the 5th Asian track & field games. Tousi last competed in the Islamic Countries Solidarity games in Indonesia in September 2013 where she won the gold medals in 100 m and 200 m and broke Iran's 100 m record.
