Former Deputy Director-General for Safeguards at the International Atomic Energy Agency, Olli Heinonen, said that Iran has the capacity to reach a nuclear bomb within in a month or two, but that it would take time to respond diplomatically and raise the subject at the
UN Security Council. "There will be suspicions until the whole nuclear project is gone," he said.
He added that lifting sanctions on Iran would be difficult without "detailed explanations and full transparency from Iran", and, therefore, only if Iran will be clear and secure about its intentions, an agreement can be reached. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
