HRANA News Agency – Mehdi Farahi Shandiz, the political prisoner of ward 8 of Evin prison is transferred to solitary confinement of ward 240. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), he is transferred from ward number 8 to solitary confinement of ward number 240, on Monday December 9. An informed source told to HRANA’s reporter: “Prison authorities transferred him to solitary confinement with the charge of insulting supreme leader and ripping his photos.” Mehdi Farahi Shandiz, who has been imprisoned for multiple political charges, is arrested on International Workers’ Day in 2009, in Laleh Park, and the same night, intelligent service forces rushed to his house and seized his personal documents, books and personal accessories. After this arrest, Mr. Farahi Shandiz was sentenced to 9 months in prison, the majority of which had been spent in solitary confinement of ward 209. He was released on February. After many inquiries from revolutionary court for getting back his documents (passport, birth certificate, National ID card, computer, etc.) last time, he was prevented to enter the branch number 28, and after resisting he was arrested and sentenced to three years in prison, on charge of insulting supreme leader and disturbing the public order. |
