Thursday 30 January 20142 Arab political prisoners have been executed
HRANA News Agency – The intelligence agents have informed the families of Hashem Shabani Nezhad and Hadi Rashedi that they have been executed 3 or 4 days ago. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Hashem Shabani Nezhad and Hadi Rashedi, the 2 cultural activists from Ramshir city whose execution sentences was confirmed by the branch 32 of Supreme Court had been transferred to an unknown location by intelligence office of Ahwaz since December 7, 2013. The intelligence agents have informed their families on January 29th that these 2 political prisoners have been executed 3 or 4 days ago. Hashem Shabani Nezhad was a poet, blogger, Arabic literature teacher and the master student in political since at the University of Ahwaz and Hadi Rashedi was a chemistry teacher. Press T.V. broadcasted their confessions and introduced them as the members of so called “Al-Moghavemat Al-Shabiye” group, claiming that there have been weapons in their houses. Karim Dehimi, the human rights activist told to HRANA’s reporter: “We believe that they have been executed the same day when they disappeared on December 7, 2013.” Their lawyer also had told HRANA: “These 2 prisoners have asked for appeal however there have been no answer to their appeal, either positive or negative.” British Foreign Secretary, British Parliament, German Federal Foreign Office, Norway Ministry of Foreign Affairs, U.S. Department of State, EU Parliament, Ahmed Shaheed, the United Nations Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in Iran, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch had condemned the death sentenced issued for these political prisoners. Jane Lambert, Mary Honeyball and Dr. Charles Tannock, the EU Parliament members and Catherine Ashton, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy have earged Iranian authorities to make the situation of these prisoners clear when they were transferred to an unknown location. On December 9, 2013, Amnesty International demanded Iranian authorities to suspend the death sentences of these 2 Arab activists. Mohammad Amuri Nezhad, Hashem Shabani Nezhad, Mokhtar Al Boshuke, Hadi Rashedi and Jaber Al Boshuke were the members of Al Ahwar cultural association in the city of Ramshir. These political prisoners went on hunger strike for 28 days from March 2, 2013. |
