HRANA News Agency – Reza Shahabi, the labor activist and political prisoner of Evin prison is deprived of medical treatment following the order of Tehran prosecutor. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), following the attrition trend of following medical status and treatment of prisoners of ward 350 in Evin prison, last Sunday 2nd of January, Reza Shahbi, the labor activist and member of Sherkat-Vahed (Bus Transit) syndicates, has been deprived of continuation of his medical treatment. Last Sunday and after weeks of efforts for getting permission from persecutor and coordination with hospital, Tehran’s persecutor in an order to prison authorities stopped his medical furlough and banned any presence of Reza Shahabi’s family member in hospital and has stated upon the aforesaid condition, the prisoner shall be transferred to prison without finishing his treatments. This order has initialed despite the fact, which due to back problem and pain, there are months that movement became hard for Reza Shahbi and visiting a professional physician was a need. Besides, the presence of the family was for ease of getting medicine and following bureaucratic medical procedure, which prison’s authorities refused to do elaborately. Later, the Tehran deputy prosecutor, Mr. Khodabakhsh initialed similar order for Mehi Khodaei, the other prisoner of ward 350, which caused issues for this prisoner. |
