Adnan Hasanpoor transferred back to Marivan prison

HRANA News Agency – Adnan Hassanpoor, the Kurdish journalist imprisoned in central prion of Zahedan, was transferred to Marivan.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Adnan Hassanpoor has been transferred from central prison of Zahedan to Marivan, on Saturday, April 19.

An informed source said to HRANA’s reporter, “he has been taken out of ward with all of his personal accessories, in order to be transferred to Marivan”.

This Kurdish journalist was arrested on January 25, 2007, and sentenced to death, on charge of corruption on earth and war against God’s will.

Before his arrest, he was a member of editorial board of Aso weekly, which was published in Kurdish and Persian. This weekly was banned on charge of threatening the national security, in 2006.

The sentence of this Kurdish journalist was reduced in court of appeal to 15 years in prison. He has been deprived of having furlough since his arrest.
