The following statement has been issued by Vahed Bus Workers Syndicate on transfer of Reza Shahabi, the incarcerated member of the steering committee of the syndicate from Evin prison to Rejaishahr prison:
According to reports received by Vahed Bus Workers Syndicate, on Sunday, June 1, 2014, Reza Shahabi, a member of the steering committee of Tehran and Suburbs Vahed Bus Workers Syndicate has been transferred to Rejaishahr prison from Evin prison without prior notification. Reza Shahabi was planned to go under operation for his back vertebrates in a hospital outside the prison and due to this sudden and beyond the realm of law transfer has said that he will go on a hunger strike so the prison authorities may realize his just demand.
Vahed Bus Workers Syndicate, strongly condemning such actions asks for an end to the prosecution for all the advocates of the labor community and calls for the release of all who are in prison for defending worker rights.
