HRANA News Agency – Mehdi Farahi Shandiz, the political prisoner of Evin prison is transferred to ward number one of Rajai Shahr prison of Karaj, which is devoted for dangerous prisoners. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mehdi Farahi Shandiz has been transferred from ward number 8 of Evin prison to ward number 1 in hall 2 of Rajai Shahr prison. This ward is devoted to prisoners who committed crimes like murder or stick up, and in terms of hygienic condition is in very bad condition. Beside Mehdi Farahi, a Baha’i prisoner with the name of Shahram Chiniyan is kept in this ward. Mehdi Farahi SHandiz who had been arrested many times for political charges, previously was arrested in 2009 in Leleh park in Tehran and the same night the intelligence service officers rushed to his house and after investigation seized his books and personal belongings. Farahi Shandiz has been sentenced to nine months in prison after this arrest. He spent most of that time in solitary confinement of ward 209 of Evin prison. Finally, he was released in January 2010. Finally and in the most recent case, branch number 28 of revolutionary court of Tehran sentenced him to three years in prison, on charge of insulting the supreme leader and threatening national security. |
