HRANA News Agency – Behnam Irani, the new converted to Christianity priest, who was transferred to an unknown location, is back to central detention center of Karaj. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Behnam Irani was transferred from hall number seven of central detention center of Karaj to an unknown location, on June 8th. He was sent back to central detention center of Karaj, on June 23rd. After spending one night in quarantine, he was back to hall number seven. An informed source said to HRANA’s reporter, “Behnam Irani was transferred to intelligence service detention of Alborz province. During that time, he was interrogated for at least 20 hours and also has been threatened about continuing his behavior. He has been told that he will face more sentences if he continues his activities”. Behnam Irani was arrested in 2006 for his church related activities on charge of gospel, preaching for people and conducting religious ceremonies at house, and was released on the bail after several months in detention. The court of appeal sentenced him to conditional five years in prison on charge of acting against the national security, on February 12, 2008. Then, the security forces rushed to his house and arrested him again on April 12, 2010. This time, the court sentenced him to one year in prison on charge of propaganda against the government. |
