A political prisoner on hunger strike in Diesel Abad Prison

HRANA News Agency – Layegh Kordpoor, the Sunni prisoner of Diesel-Abad prison in Kermanshah, is on hunger strike since 11 days ago and has sewn his lips.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Layegh Kordpoor, the habitant of Javanrood, who is on hunger strike since 11 days ago, has sewn his lips.

An informed source said to HRANA’s reporter, “Layegh Kordpoor is started his hunger strike in protest to bad condition of the prison and also rejection of his request for transferring to Paveh prison that is close to the residence place of his family”.

He also added, “The court has announced him that one year and eight month of his sentence is pardoned. But it never has happened. This prisoner believes that intelligence service has prevented this pardon to be applied”.

Layegh Kordpoor was arrested in Javanrood on January 17, 2011, and after two months in solitary confinement of intelligence service detention of Kermanshah, was transferred to ward 209 of Evin prison. He was transferred to Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj and then Paveh prison. Finally he was transferred to Diesel Abad prison of Kermanshah.

He has been sentenced to five years in prison by revolutionary court, on charge of supporting Salafi groups, but there is no information about the exact allegation and evidences that had been used against him in court.
