A political prisoner in critical health condition

HRANA News Agency – Ali Salanpoor, the political prisoner of Rajai Shahr prison is suffering from Cervical Vertebrae and spinal disorders, but he is facing medical negligence.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ali Salanpoor who was arrested on December 19, 2010 and sentenced to five years in prison in revolutionary court is kept in hall number 12 of Rajai Shahr prison.

An informed source who wanted to remain unknown told HRANA’s reporter, “Ali Salanpoor had some injuries on his neck and back, which cause serious pains, but the prison’s clinic just prescribed painkiller and have not carried out any treatment”.

He also added, “These injuries are resulted from electrical shocker which was used during the arrest and prison’s authorities neglected the requests regarding his transfer to a professional medical center”.

He mentioned as well, “Ali Soltanpoor was transferred to Tajrish hospital due to his severe condition, last May. But despite the emphasizing of neurologist doctors, regarding need for immediate admission, he was sent back to prison”.

Ali Sallanpoor has been exiled to Rajai Shahr prison on June 1st along with 6 other political prisnoers. This group’s exile was a response of events of ward 350 of Evin prison, which know as black Thursday.

There is no information about the exact charges of Ali Salanpoor but a source said he has been charged with supporting MEK.
