HRANA News Agency – Despite Kidney failure, Zainab Jalalian – a Kurdish Political Activist held in Kermanshash Prison – has not received medical treatment and prison authorities fail to attend to her medical needs. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Zainab Jalalian a political prisoner kept at Kermanshah Women’s Prison is suffering from Kidney failure and is in extreme health condition after her illness was exacerbated. One of her relatives mentioned to HRANA reporter “Zainab Jalalian is suffering from terrible Kidney pain and her health condition is deteriorating quickly but the prison authorities neglect to provide her with any medical treatments.” This prisoner also has been suffering from eye disease for the past couple of years in prison and gradually losing her Eyesight. She has been deprived of any sick leave and the prison authorities refuse to send her to hospital for receiving medical care. The reports received from Women’s Prison also confirm that she is suffering from health condition and is in an undesirable situation. Zeynab Jalalian was arrested in 2007 by Kermanshah Intelligent Services Officials and was initially sentences to death by Islamic Revolutionary Court because of her associations with Kurdish Parties. She was later received a reduced sentence of life imprisonment. This political prisoner has lived under extreme conditions for the past couple of years and had several Hunger strikes in protest to her living conditions and the way she is treated in prison. |
