HRANA News Agency – Mehdi Farahi Shandiz, political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison, was transferred from ward 1 to ward 2.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on Sunday 27th July, Mehdi Farahi Shandiz was transferred from ward 1 in Rajai Shahr prison to ward 2.
Ward 2 of Rajai Shahr prison (known as Dar Al Quran) is dedicated to the ordinary prisoners with different type of crimes. In this ward prisoners are forced to attend Quran classes.
Mehdi Farahi who has several times been arrested, on international Labours day of 2009 was arrested in “Laleh Park” and that night, intelligence agents searched his house and seized all his documents, personal belongings and books.
Farah Shandiz was sentenced to 9 months imprisonment. He spent most of it in solitary cells of ward 209 and was released on February 2009.
He repeatedly asked the Revolutionary Court to get his stuff and documents (passport, birth certificate, National ID Card, computer, etc.) back but last time he was prevented to enter the court branch and after resisting he was arrested and by Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court he was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment on the charge of insulting the Leader and disturbing the public order.
